Alan Johnson does not want Labour front bench job

27 June 2014 Last updated at 13:22 BST

Alan Johnson has "no desire whatsoever" to go back to front line politics, despite a call from a Labour colleague.

David Blunkett said Ed Miliband should bring back "some oldies" including the Hull West and Hessle MP, who served as home, education and health secretaries.

Mr Johnson joked that he thanked Mr Blunkett, but reminded This Week host Andrew Neil that he had resigned from the shadow cabinet.
