17 June 2014 Last updated at 11:27 BST

A peer who became an internet hit after making the V-sign at her Conservative colleague Lord King in the House of Lords, said he "got what he deserved" after he referred to her age.

But Baroness Trumpington said they both thought her signal to him was private, although it has since been seen around the world, and helped land a guest spot on Have I Got News For You.

In her Daily Politics interview with Jo Coburn, the former Bletchley Park code breaker - then known as Jean Barker - recalled crying over a failed bid to become an MP, her relations with Margaret Thatcher, her views on Scottish independence and the UK's relations with the European Union.

And the peer joked that the she hoped policemen outside the House of Lords would keep their jobs after her revelation they are her best friends.
