'Trojan horse': Gove 'warned on extremism for years'

Education Secretary Michael Gove must explain a lack of action on warnings about extremist schools to the House of Commons on Monday, according to shadow education secretary Tristram Hunt.

"He has been receiving warnings for years that the lack of local oversight in our school system will damage education standards," Mr Hunt said.

"We are now seeing some of the results. In terms of the leaked Ofsted reports, alleged restricted school curriculum, gender discrimination among staff, children exposed to extremist views."
