May on women in politics: 'There's more to be done'

25 May 2014 Last updated at 12:53 BST

The two most senior women in British politics - Home Secretary Theresa May and Deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman - talked to Andrew Marr about women in politics.

"There's still more to be done," said Ms May, "you have to keep your foot on the accelerator".

Ms Harman was in agreement. "[As women] we are highly unrepresentative of British politics... If women see that politics is overwhelmingly dominated by men, they think 'that's got nothing to do with my life', so it really matters."
