Housing benefit and welfare changes: Timms and Elphicke

28 March 2014 Last updated at 14:57 GMT

The changes to housing benefit could end up costing more than they save, said Labour MP Stephen Timms.

But there are 300,000 people in overcrowded homes, and it was important the government looked after them, said Tory MP Charlie Elphicke.

They spoke to Andrew Neil on the Daily Politics a year after the reforms were brought in, which has seen 6% of social housing tenants affected by the changes moving home, according to BBC research.
