PMQs: Elvis jibe at Nick Clegg after by-election result

12 March 2014 Last updated at 14:03 GMT

Elvis Presley was mentioned twice at Prime Minister's Questions as Labour tried to embarrass Nick Clegg after his party was pushed into last place at a council by-election, behind the Elvis Bus Pass Party.

Labour MP Kevin Brennan claimed the deputy prime minister "ain't nothing but a lap dog" after Lib Dems finished behind pensioner David Laurence Bishop, who uses name of Lord Biro and dresses as the singer.

Mr Clegg hit back by claiming Labour was "the lap dog of the bankers" when it was in office.
