How floods can make or break political careers

River levels may be slowly falling but the Environment Agency still has two severe flood warnings in place in Somerset.

The prime minister has been visiting areas in Wales and the South West hit by the storms.

Mr Cameron said his government was at the heart of a vast national effort to deal with the situation.

James Landale reports on how the prime minister and his political rivals have responded to the floods.
