UKIP suspends councillor who blamed flooding on gay marriage

UKIP has suspended one of its local councillors after he blamed recent flooding on the government's decision to legalise same-sex marriage.

David Silvester said the floods were God's retribution for a Christian nation abandoning its faith.

He said he had to stand up for what he believed in.
