Borgen writer Adam Price: Danish drama success on BBC4

12 November 2013 Last updated at 14:12 GMT

The writer of Danish TV drama Borgen said the team was told "this show would not travel", except to perhaps neighbouring Sweden and Norway, as he spoke about its popularity in the UK.

He told Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics: "If you were a commissioning editor would you ever consider buying a Danish show about coalition politics?"

He said the drama, starting its third and final series on BBC4 this weekend, will not return and he said he wanted to "end it on a mountain top, hopefully as good as the series can possibly be, instead of letting it die out."
