Farage: Afriyie has 'finger on real problem'

6 October 2013 Last updated at 10:28 BST

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said he would be "absolutely delighted" by a potential referendum over the European Union.

Talking on The Andrew Marr Show, Mr Farage challenged the Conservative party and Home Secretary Theresa May on immigration but denied a Tory-led referendum on membership of the EU, as floated by backbench MP Adam Afriyie, would steal the purpose of UKIP.

Instead, Mr Farage said he would be "absolutely delighted" with a referendum and that Mr Afriyie "has put his finger on the real problem".
