Hilary Benn on Damian McBride claims from Gordon Brown era

20 September 2013 Last updated at 14:34 BST

Labour was a "different party" since the claims made by Gordon Brown's former spin doctor about him leaking stories to the press about the former prime minister's potential rivals, said Hilary Benn.

The shadow cabinet minister said Damian Bride's claims about Charles Clarke and John Reid were a "post script on the past" and Labour had "learned from those lessons of the past".

Mr Benn also spoke to Andrew Neil about the Labour Party conference starting this weekend in Brighton, and its standing in the opinion polls.
