MPs to vote on EU referendum

5 July 2013 Last updated at 06:58 BST

MPs will get their first chance to vote on whether to hold a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU later.

There will be a debate on a backbench bill which could pave the way for a public vote.

The Prime Minister has given it his full support though there is no Government legislation because of opposition from the Liberal Democrats.

Carole Walker reports.
