17 March 2013 Last updated at 11:47 GMT

The Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls says he would support a cut in the basic rate of income tax in Wednesday's budget.

Speaking to Jeremy Vine on The Andrew Marr Show, Ed Balls laid out his alternative proposals which include a cut in VAT, more house building and a return of the 10p tax rate.

The Shadow Chancellor argued that more needs to be done to "get the economy moving".
