Political book award judges on writing a winner
The shortlists for the inaugural Paddy Power and Total Politics Book Awards have been drawn up, with the winners to be announced next month.
David Thompson asked some of the judges what they loved in a political book - and what they are looking for in a winner.
He spoke to author and journalist Heather Brooke, Sky News Political Editor Adam Boulton, and to the author and historian Tristram Hunt MP.
