Welfare changes and means-testing pensioners' benefits
Janet Street-Porter said she was a "striver not a shirker" and pensioners like herself should enjoy their travel passes and winter fuel payments.
She warned the government to meddle with benefits for older people "at your peril", and said there was no guarantee any money taken way from older people would be put to good use.
The broadcaster said: "Leave us pensioners and our perks alone."
