Benefits increases: Owen Jones on George Osborne policy
Author Owen Jones claimed the proposed 1% increase in benefits outlined in the Autumn Statement, showed that George Osborne's "shirkers are the new Tory undeserving poor."
He claimed the chancellor was using people on welfare as a "political football" and he was setting a trap for Labour.
