Mayor of London Boris Johnson has said Britain needs a "new relationship" with the European Union.

Speaking to Newsnight's Jeremy Paxman, Mr Johnson said the country should reshape its membership, opting out of some elements, including the common agricultural and fisheries policies and social chapter.

He also said investors in Britain "would welcome clarity" about the country's EU future.
