Nick Boles: 'Build houses on open land'
Increasing the amount of developed land by a third would address the housing shortage, according to Planning Minister Nick Boles.
Speaking to BBC Newsnight's Allegra Stratton, in an interview to be broadcast on the programme on Wednesday, Mr Boles said that building on another 2-3% of the land in England would "solve the housing problem."
He added that commitments to defend greenbelt spaces would be made in exchange.
Viewers in the UK can watch the full interview on Wednesday's Newsnight, 2230 GMT, BBC Two.
