Police commissioners: US and New York lessons for UK

A former New York police commissioner told the BBC the posts being created in some parts of Britain could be as effective in cutting crime as they have been in the USA.

Bill Bratton told Louise Stewart about the lessons the new British commissioners could learn, as crime in New York has been falling.

Elections for the 41 roles in England and Wales, outside London, are to be held for the first time on November 15.
