David Cameron: 'Government has tough EU budget approach'

Help

Prime Minister David Cameron said his government was taking the "toughest approach" to the EU budget in Britain's history.

He was speaking after Labour backed Tory rebels to defeat the government and called for a real-terms cut in EU spending between 2014 and 2020.

Labour described Wednesday's defeat as a humiliation for David Cameron.
