Westminster Dog of the Year: Charlie Elphicke and Star
The Conservative MP whose dog won the Westminster Dog of the Year contest claimed a rival tried to eat Star during the judging held just outside the House of Commons.
Charlie Elphicke, MP for Dover and Deal, said there were 20 entrants this year, more than usual, as he told Andrew Neil she was an "extremely friendly dog" who won the judges' hearts.
