Labour conference: Tim Montgomerie on Ed Miliband


Ed Miliband's speech to the Labour Party conference received a warm reception. Could this change how the Conservative Party view him as they assemble in Birmingham?

Conservativehome blogger Tim Montgomerie claimed Mr Miliband "doesn't have to be that good to win the next election".

He compared the political climate faced by Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s with the current conditions affected by the fortunes of the Liberal Democrats and UKIP.
