Labour conference: Cooper on police standards authority

The shadow home secretary claimed "the police are the public, the public are the police" as she explained the idea of one-nation policing.
Yvette Cooper claimed officers had to operate "not through coercion but by consent" and she explained Labour plans for a new police standards authority, as outlined in her speech to her party's conference.
She was also asked about control orders, ID cards and the the latest delays in the extradition of terror suspect Abu Hamza al-Masri to the US, when she spoke to Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics.
