Labour conference: Jim Murphy on Europe referendum

The shadow defence secretary has predicted that there would "have to be a referendum" in the UK on its membership of the EU.

He spoke to Andrew Neil after a Daily Politics film showed delegates at the Labour conference were against such a vote, and a few days after the prime minister hinted at offering one if he wins the 2015 general election.

Mr Murphy said: "I think at some point there will have to be a referendum on the European Union."
