Liberal Democrat conference: Nick Clegg's year

The last 12 months have seen Nick Clegg sail the Liberal Democrats into choppy political waters, says the FT's George Parker as he reviews the fortunes of the party leader.

The deputy prime minister makes his speech to the party conference on Wednesday afternoon (due around 1510 BST) with live coverage on BBC2, the BBC News Channel and BBC News Online.
