Cable to announce £1bn for 'business bank'
£1bn of taxpayers money will be invested in a new business bank that aims kick start lending to small and medium sized companies.
The Business Secretary Vince Cable will make the announcement at the Liberal Democrat conference in Brighton today.
It is thought the new bank will offer money to firms which have struggled to get credit since the start of the financial crisis.
