Lib Dem conference: Danny Alexander on tax avoidance
The chief secretary to the Treasury said boosting the "affluence unit" to look at the affairs of millionaires would repay the investment 15-fold and was a "fair and right step to take".
Danny Alexander, speaking from the Liberal Democrat Party conference in Brighton, said the move would help the economy and would help combat "aggressive tax avoidance".
He said those not paying tax meant others had to pay more.
Andrew Neil also asked him about the party's actions over tuition fees and senior figures who have apologised for the election pledge.
