Tories must seek ethnic minorities says Lord Aschroft

Tory peer Lord Ashcroft claimed that "not being white was the single best predictor that somebody would not vote Conservative" and it is a view taken seriously by strategists in Downing Street.
Surveys of how people voted at the 2010 general election, and polls commissioned since then by the peer, have suggested the failure to win over ethnic minority voters would make it harder for the Conservatives to win the next election.
