Eric Pickles vs Tory council in Cotswold planning row
A planning dispute in the Cotswolds will see the High Court decide on the battle between a Conservative council and Tory minister Eric Pickles over plans for homes, offices, a community centre and sports pitches.
Adam Fleming reports on the planning row near Tewkesbury - he spoke to Conservative MP Laurence Robertson and Peter Bolton King of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
The government is easing planning rules in England and attempting to kick-start housing schemes that stalled in the economic slowdown, but is also giving councils more power to halt unpopular developments.
