Reshuffle: Mark Pritchard and Andrew George on moves
Tory backbencher Mark Pritchard praised the appointment of Grant Shapps as the new party chairman saying "we really needed a party chairman who was elected to the House of Commons".
He is taking over from Baroness Warsi, who had made a public appeal at the weekend to keep her job.
Liberal Democrat backbencher Andrew George said the changes looked "enthralling and interesting " but also "brutal" as they had seen Caroline Spelman and Sir George Young lose their jobs.
