House of Commons: MP and peers to leave Westminster?
The Houses of Parliament are said to be crawling with rodents, contaminated with asbestos, with a leaking roof and crumbling walls - and only a costly refurbishment can sort it out properly.
Labour MP Meg Hillier suggests a move for MPs to the present Olympic site - from Westminster to 'Eastminster'.
Conservative MP Alec Shelbrooke spoke of either reorganising recess periods to get the work done, or moving MPs to the House of Lords while peers are sent to Cambridge - as happened in World War ll.
