Cameron promises funding for UK Sport until Rio 2016
David Cameron has said he cannot think of any reason the mechanism to fund for UK Sport will change, after committing to £125m every year until the 2016 Rio Olympics.
UK Sport, the body that distributes money to Olympic and Paralympic sports, will decide how the funding will be allocated between different sports.
Money from the Exchequer, added to funds from the National Lottery, had previously only been guaranteed until the end of 2014.
Mr Cameron told the BBC the extension meant athletes "now know they can plan all the way between now and Rio."
