Nick Clegg's Lords reform statement exposes coalition split

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has said he is dropping efforts to introduce legislation to reform the House of Lords.

The Deputy Prime Minister said Conservative rebel MPs who blocked the plans had broken the terms of the coalition government's agreement.
