Nick Clegg: 'Not right if Diamond gets reward'

Help

Bob Diamond is due to be grilled by MPs, one day after resigning as Barclays chief executive in the wake of the inter-bank interest rate-fixing scandal.

MPs are also likely to ask about the role of the Bank of England and the previous government in the rate-fixing.

It is thought Mr Diamond stands to get a pay-off of more than £20m as he leaves Barclays.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg says if that is true, many people will be "dismayed".
