Beecroft Report debate in House of Commons highlights
A long-awaited report commissioned by the government into employment laws has been published after a leak in the Daily Telegraph.
Venture capitalist Adrian Beecroft's recommendations included giving small businesses the power to make "no-fault dismissals" and delaying the introduction of compulsory pensions.
Business Secretary Vince Cable was away from Parliament for the debate, where the speakers included: Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna, Business and Enterprise Minister Mark Prisk, Conservative John Redwood, Liberal Democrat Lorely Burt, Conservative Anna Soubry and Labour's Kevin Brennan.
