Lord Ahmed said he was shocked and horrified by the reports that led to his suspension from the Labour Party.
The peer denied offering a bounty on the heads of US President Barack Obama and his predecessor George Bush.
He said the reporting of the story in Pakistan's media was "lies" and he told BBC Asian Network he was unhappy with the covering of the story in the British media, including the BBC.
Some of the poor audio quality is due to the phone line.
