Economy: Pryce, Leslie and Hancock on growth figures

Help

Economist Vicky Pryce said Tuesday's growth figures were better than expected, but said "every indicator" showed a slowdown for manufacturing and the service sector.

Labour's Chris Leslie and Conservative Matthew Hancock gave their parties' views of the figures for the third quarter of 2011 which showed Britain's economy grew by 0.5%, better than the 0.3% many expected.

Separate figures show the manufacturing sector shrank by the sharpest rate since June 2009, when Britain was still in recession.
