GMT to CET: MP's bid to move UK to European time

Conservative MP Rebecca Harris explained her proposal before Parliament to move the clocks forward an hour from next summer in order to bring Britain in line with most of Europe and make better use of daylight and save lives.

But the Mail on Sunday's Peter Hitchens said it could leave people in England and Scotland eating their breakfast in the dark and he suspected it was an EU move that would not be supported by British people.
