Conference: Ed Balls on Labour and coalition mistakes

Ed Balls admitted Labour made mistakes but then listed what he claimed were "reckless, ideological, unfair" coalition policies.

The shadow chancellor dismissed claims Labour was profligate with public money and that public spending on public services in Britain caused the global financial crisis.

He said: "It wasn't too many police officers or nurses or teachers here in Britain that bankrupted Lehman Brothers in New York".
