William Hague: Colonel Gaddafi 'could stay in Libya'
The UK has joined France in suggesting Colonel Gaddafi could stay on in Libya, provided he steps down from power.
Speaking at a joint news conference alongside the French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe, the Foreign Secretary William Hague said although the UK's preference was for Gaddafi to leave the country, it was up to the Libyan people to decide.
