Squatting in England and Wales 'should be illegal'

Squatting, already illegal in Scotland, could become a criminal offence in England and Wales under government proposals.

Government ministers have described squatting as anti-social, undesirable and unfair, and a change in the law could affect an estimated 20,000 people.
