Michael Gove: Teachers could lose respect over strikes
The Education Secretary Michael Gove has urged schools to stay open during next week's teachers' strikes to minimise the inconvenience for parents saying "I think it is wrong for people who are working hard to have their lives disrupted in this way."
Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show he spoke of his concerns about how strikes could harm the profession adding "I do worry that taking industrial action... will actually mean that the respect in which teachers should be held will be taken back a little bit."
