Oxford academic Toby Ord gives everything he earns - above £18,000 - to charities in developing countries and he thinks more of us should consider giving 10% of our income to good causes.
His call comes as the Conservatives look at ways of encouraging people to give more money to charity - part of their 'Big Society' message where people volunteer time and money to help others.
