Tape of Hazel Blears on 'wicked and malicious' claims

Former communities secretary Hazel Blears denied describing the last Labour government as sometimes "wicked and malicious" at a fringe meeting, and claimed she was talking about Eric Pickles.

But a tape of the meeting has since emerged which casts doubt on her version of events that she gave to Andrew Neil on Tuesday's Daily Politics.

Ms Blears has been offered a chance to further explain her comments.
