Alistair Darling on Ed Miliband and the UK economy

Help

Alistair Darling - who backed David Miliband - gives his reaction to Ed Miliband's election as party leader and explains he will be taking time out from front line politics, but may be back.

He said he not would be turning up on TV programmes to attack the policies of his successors on the Labour front bench.

Mr Darling was also asked why he only voted for one candidate in the leadership poll, and declines to put forward a name for his successor as shadow chancellor.
