Ed Miliband on Liberal Democrat 'dismay' at coalition

The Liberal Democrats have dismissed as "complete and utter fabrication" reports that the former party leader Charles Kennedy is considering defecting to the Labour Party.

Some newspapers have reported speculation that Mr Kennedy has been in talks with Labour whips.

One of the Labour leadership contenders, Ed Miliband, said Mr Kennedy may not be considering defecting but there has been dismay among the grassroots of the Liberal Democrat party.
