Cameron doubted he would become Prime Minister
David Cameron has confessed that, on the day before entering Downing Street, he told his wife Samantha he was sure he would not become prime minister.
Mr Cameron revealed his doubts about forming a coalition government in a documentary by BBC political editor Nick Robinson.
It looks at the five days of negotiations and deal-making at Westminster involving the three main political parties following the hung parliament delivered by voters in May's general election.
Five Days That Changed Britain is broadcast at 2100 BST on BBC2.
