Derry man guilty of making hoax bomb calls to police

A 43-year-old man has pleaded guilty at Londonderry Magistrates' Court to making hoax bomb phone calls to the police.

Phillip Calvin Kinsella, from Great James Street, admitted two charges of communicating information to the police that there was a bomb inside Strand Road police station.

He also admitted a further charge of misusing a communications network.

He has been released on bail and is to be sentenced in September.

Mr Kinsella committed the three offences on 20 June 2011.
