Man found not guilty of rape on Derry city walls

Justice

A 22-year-old man has been found not guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a woman on Londonderry city walls last year.

Jamie Curry, an unemployed barman from Goshaden Road in Derry, was cleared of all four charges brought against him.

He had been accused of raping the woman after they had met and danced together in a nightclub in February 2012.

The jury returned a unanimous verdict after 105 minutes of deliberation.
