Man arrested over 2009 Londonderry murder of James McConnell

A 48-year-old man has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of James McConnell in Londonderry in February 2009.

Mr McConnell, who was 38, was shot dead at his home in Woodland Avenue by two masked men.

The man was arrested in Dungiven, County Londonderry, and was taken to Antrim police station.

He is also being questioned about an incident in Feeney in 2004 when a shotgun was fired at a house.

The police are also conducting two searches in the Dungiven area.
